The Human Scale Schools project - Steering Group & Advisory Commitee

The Human Scale Schools project is being coordinated by Jane Thomas, Human Scale Education's secondary schools officer. Jane started her career as an English teacher. She has also worked as a school librarian, a PSHE coordinator and a local authority coordinator for staff development. Educated at St Christopher School in Letchworth, a school that remains rooted in human scale values and first principles, throughout her life Jane has sought to apply human scale values to every aspect of her work.

Human Scale Schools Project  - Advisory Committee

The advisory committee meets twice a year. It advises the steering group on the strategic direction of the initiative from the particular perspectives of committee members (ie headteachers; the 'human scale' movement; funding bodies, etc) but also, and importantly, from the organisational perspective of the DfES, Ofsted and QCA observers.

The advisory committee receives twice-yearly reports from the evaluation team and offers feedback and guidance on these, and on drafts of interim and final reports. Its members are:
